Just scored (very highly!) by Antonio Galloni we can offer the three newest vintage cuvee releases from one of our favourite growers, Vilmart.
The “fabulous” 2013 Coeur de Cuvée “that dazzles with tension and energy”
The 2012 Rosé Emotion is “everything a top Rosé should be”
And the 2016 Grand Cellier d’Or: “a gorgeous, ethereal Champagne that is all about grace”
“This is a superb set of new releases from Vilmart and proprietor Laurent Champs. The Vilmart style is all about class, understatement and vibrancy. There is a transparency in these wines that is compelling. Oak is present, but always well judged. This year the 2013 Coeur de Cuvée and 2012 Rosé Emotion are especially of note. The Grand Cellier offers plenty of Vilmart raciness at a more approachable price.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, November 2021."
2013 Coeur de Cuvée, Vilmart
The 2013 Brut Coeur de Cuvée is fabulous, not to mention and absolute must-buy for Vilmart fans. All of the tension of the late harvest comes through in a Champagne that dazzles with tension and energy. Bright acids drive a core of Chardonnay fruit. Citrus, white pepper, white flowers and crushed rocks abound. Readers should be in no rush to open the 2013, it's a wine for the cellar. Disgorged: December, 2020. 2023 – 2033. $157.00

2012 Rosé Emotion, Vilmart
The 2012 Brut Rosé Emotion is heady, exotic and so alluring. Rose petal, spice, cinnamon, mint, crushed raspberry and white pepper all soar out of the glass. The Emotion is everything a top Rosé should be; aromatic, deep and pure sensuality. Vilmart fans won't want to miss it. The 2012 is a blend of 60% Pinot and 40% Chardonnay. Disgorged: March, 2018. 2021-2030. $189

2016 Grand Cellier d'Or, Vilmart
The 2016 Brut Grand Cellier d' Or is a gorgeous, ethereal Champagne that is all about grace. Floral and citrus notes abound in a weightless, translucent Champagne that has so much to offer. The 2016 is not an obvious wine at all, but rather a Champagne that dazzles with nuance and understatement. I loved it. Disgorged: July, 2020. 2021-2031. $114.

2013 Grand Cellier d'Or, Vilmart
We can also offer, direct from the Vilmart cellars, the fantastic 2013 Grand Cellier d’Or in magnum.
We enjoyed a magnum of this very cuvee last week at the Turville Christmas lunch and it was fantastic. Brimming with apples and lemons with tremendous balance and energy, it is drinking beautifully now but will comfortably improve for the next decade.
The 2013 Brut Grand Cellier d'Or is ample and beautifully expansive on the palate. Over the last year, the 2013 has acquired pretty tropical overtones that add exoticism to the lemon confit and floral notes. More than anything else, though, the 2013 is a Champagne of impeccable harmony and balance. Suave and polished to the core, the 2013 is a fabulous choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years, give or take.

More information on Vilmart
When Champagne expert Tom Stevenson describes Vilmart's superlative Champagnes as "Montrachet with bubbles" it is easy to see what he means.
The vinous style of these impressively textured Champagnes appeals to lovers of the great Chardonnays of the world, as well as lovers of great Champagnes. Winemaker Laurent Champ sums up their ethos as "We do wine first, then afterwards we do Champagne".
In a style made popular by Krug, Vilmart is vinified and matured in oak. The resulting wines are among the some of the most captivating, stylish and downright delicious wines that are produced in Champagne today.
